Yesterday I spent most of the day fighting with my backyard. Mowing the lawn, and using this thing that looks a bit like a metal detector to cut the finer detailed thingies. I went to bed at 01:00, but there were dozens of mosquitos to keep me awake for three and a half hours. I got up at 08:00 and I'm more than a bit tired.

Do you have a celebration this friday? Fins have this weird day called Juhannus. It has got something to do with witches and such, really ancient, and nowadays people get really drunk and make huge bonfires. I just want to know if this is an international tradition or is it ours exclusively.

Do you celebrate Winter-een-mas? I'm thinking about giving it a go next year or the year after it. I really think it's an incredible idea.

I'm guessing that Juhannus has something to do with the summer solstice. That was yesterday, so this weekend would be a good time to celebrate it, and the more 'natural' religons tend to follow that stuff more closely than others.

Around my house this time of year, I make my family celebrate the pool in my backyard, the grill, and for me.......LOTS-O-BEER!!!!!

My daughters B-Day is on June 6th. From there, the weather is usually nice so I have around 4-5 people over each day, swimming, eating, drinking............. What's nice about this is that I do the opening of the pool, getting it ready to swim in, then the rest of my family/friends who want to use it have to do the regular vaccuming and skimming. It works out great, for me anyway!

At night, we celebrate our every other nightly "fire pit" drinking and marshmallow burning festivities. Then maybe me and momma do some late night swimming...............er....nevermind............
