He deserved it. He actually killed someone over a virtual sword.

I think it is Chinese law, which is at fault here. Legally all he could do is wipe his nose and start working on getting another sword. People get ****ed when they are wronged and they get even more ****ed when they can’t find justice.

Cry me a river. *plays violin*

Good... he's a friggin' psycho... did nothing but give mom-groups another bullet in their gun.

There's an easy way to prevent this kind of thing... don't lend out your virtual content... particularly if you think it is F'ing worth killing for... DUUUUUUH! Yeah, legislation would be a good thing, but it'll take time to even be recognized as something that is needed... don't be a friggin' idiot, don't lend out your "priceless" virtual content, don't cry to me about how you screwed yourself, DO NOT F'ING KILL OVER IT!

I hope that jackass learns a valuable lesson before he dies... could be useful when/if he is lucky enough to be reincarnated as a maggot.

I feel sorry for the people who have to admit they are related to him.

And one more note, frankly, I'd rather see the title: "Murderer sentenced to life" than what you have... it's more accurate. This guy doesn't run in my circles... F' him... he's not in jail for being a gamer, he's in jail for being a killer, and the less association we have between the two, the better.

This is game related, so hence the title.

You are right though, it sure ain’t worth killing for, and he is probably mentally unstable.

What an idiot.

The dad, though... wow.

"We want Qiu to die, and immediately," he added.

I figure that would be my reaction... the least of my reaction. They say "No parent should have to out-live their child"... and in this case, particularly.

"... Mr Qiu lost patience and stabbed him with "great force"

They don't own the data. therefore you can't / shouldnt sell it on ebay ending this stupidity.

Well obviously the guy is guilty. I don't think anyone questions that. What I am saying, is that the situation could have been nonexistant if they had proper laws.

What a delicious story.

So what? People do stupid things because of stupid things. So he kills someone over something that isn't real; something that he "stole", but didn't steal anything.

Sad thing is, we're going to have a #$%3 load of ******s and idiots who'll start blaming games even more. The guy's an idiot. He acted on his rage, and hence gets punished for it. Does it matter what caused this rage?

wow, we could like get 'game rage' where someone who gets pwned online calls round to the guys house and beats the shiznit out of him

still, if I lent something precious to me to someone else and they sold it I would be pretty ****ed, more than ****ed- not enough to kill him but I doubt I'd speak to him again

I'd do something more deliciously diabolical rather than a girly murder. Say like going over to his house and leaving a hidden magnet next to his PC/hard drive.

Experience has taught me that evil is to be lovingly savored; its NOT meant as a quick fix (as in the Chinese gamer case linked to above).

How about "Psycho sentenced to life!!!". It doesn't really matter what someone kills someone over, unless it's in self-defense it means the murderer is probably a sociopath.

wtf?!? Heh, ok, I realise it was important, but killing over a sword??? Wrong, virtual sword.... Heh, only rice-eyed people can do it... graemlins/av_rofl.gif

Well, Korea / Asia / the east does seem to have a more 'active' gaming environment than the sedated West. It is not the first fight caused by in game events. I remember reading a bout a lot of rows that broke out between multiple guild members after they had fought in Lineage.

Chinese customs are waaay different to ours, and they always seem to want revenge in great quantities, as I had a couple of chinese friends. They won't stop untill they feel they are above the other person, no matter what.
